Reply:The overall economic failure of Middle Eastern countries that are oil-rich, 'resource-poor' and capable of spending money on nuclear weapons but not on housing, health care, social development, literacy campaigns, education and security for their own people. Some countries like Algeria are resource-rich but negligent in terms of resource-based development, industrialization, technological advancement, etc. They have lost their educated class of professionals, artists, business leaders and politicians that every country needs. They haven't worked on softening the hierarchical nature of their society and the level of poverty and illiteracy there. Many people are homeless in these oil-rich nations and surprisingly, there is often a lot of prostitution, underground sale of alcohol and theft.
