What could be very good topics, for a research paper?!?

help me out!

What could be very good topics, for a research paper?!?
I did one on the effects of violent video games on kids/teens. I liked that topic because there's a lot of evidence in both directions (some say they are harmful, and some say they are helpful...and in a good research paper, you should present both sides of the argument anyway).
Reply:What do you teach? Do you want to work with any of your fellow teachers? If you teach English, you can team up with the history dept. and allow them to pick subjects while you grade form, they grade content, same with science. If you teach social science, try putting a flat statement on the board and have the class support or reject it--great arguments both ways. It doesn't have to be a popular , controversial topic, just one that is readily researchable. Do violent video games breed violence in players or do violent people choose violent games?
Reply:Give us a further hint, please!
Reply:Definitely do something a little different! As important as Ghandi, the evolution of rock music, and the change in the environment ARE, your teacher would probably appreciate something a little different. Teach him or her as well! Let me think here...I'm super bored so I'll just throw out some ideas. :)

~The discovery and history of something random (kitchen appliances, scissors, toilet paper, nail polish, guns, etc.)

~How animals (dogs, cats, horses, whatever) became domesticated

~The different kinds of paper and how they're manufactured

~Western versus Eastern medical practices

haha, this is fun! um...

~The history of your family's last name

~The history and social meanings of fairy tales

~Very early music (pre-Renaissance)

~Bridges, or some subset of architecture

or -Religion?

Any other suggestions?, I can pick any topic.

Out of which of the following topics would be easiest to research for Engaland in Tudor and Stuart times?
religion would be the easiest. actually, there would probably be too much info.

i good topic would be the monarchies: enough info but not as generic
Reply:wars, henry the VIII
Reply:religion, you can probably write a full paper just on the spanish inquisition that was brought over to england during the Tudor period
Reply:Religion is a good start but to broad to reasearch about. If I were you I would choose medicine because it can be very interesting. You would be surprised about all of the strange ideas about medicine they had back then, especially with magic.

Compare these two pieces: "The Tale of Sir Gareth" by Sir Thomas Mallory and "Gareth and Lynette" by Lord Alfred Tennyson. You can probably find both stories on the internet, and it's really easy to do. Sir mallory was a knight and Lord Tennyson was a poet. So for my English class i have to write a paper on anything i want to know more about, plus i need to interview someone that relates to this topic. The paper has to be a minimum of 3000 words. I thought about it and for some reason im having the hardest time picking a topic, can anyone give me some suggestions?

The Kennedy Assassination. There is more information on that you will know what to do with. You can interview anyone who was alive and remembers that day and the entire week following it. With all the conspiracy theories you will have plenty to make a 3000 word paper. It's interesting to read about it and watch the films.

Can any one give me an idea of a good research topic?

I am trying to research on a topic related to marketing, in particular consumer behaviour and culture. Can any one suggest an idea which is realted to the above two? for eg- i have three vey popular fast food joints close by- mcdonald's, kfc and burger king, can i find out something about them ???

Can any one give me an idea of a good research topic?
You could look into whether or not the offering of healthier menu choices has led to a higher boost in profits, and if consumers are buying more of the healthy than the standby fast food.
Reply:I would write a research paper on how those fast food joints market, and how they advertise, and who they market to.

You could easily get a lot of information, and there are some good books on it as well, such as "fast food nation"
Reply:I would research how video game consumers have evolved from kids to adults.. remember kids that grew up playing atari and nintendo are now adults and are responsible for the success of modern game consoles like ps2 and xbox. there is a lot of information available on this topic and I can tell you that when video games first came out they where marketed to kids but now you see a shift and a lot of games are marketed to adults, why is that? I will tell you why, the reason is the same kids that played atari 30 years ago have grown up and they still enjoy gaming but they demand games that are more geared for adults and companies like sony and microsoft are aware of that and that is why they are so successful. I used to be a marketing rep for xbox and I learned alot about this topic. good luck

Research paper topics? (can be about anything)?

The research paper is for English class but can be about any topic we choose. One of the recommendations was to choose something that interests us so I chose first to write about the Sociology of Fashion. While looking at my books I remembered that there was another sugestion saying that you could write about books that you've enjoyed, so I thought something about Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. In am particularry interested in the fact that Wonderland pictures the adult world and Alice a child that tries to understand this confusing world and also how the conflict of identity is present troughout the whole book. In the Looking Glass she is more unerstanding of this adult world but is still dealing with some issues, especially identity ones. Still I'm not very sure about what is it that I want to write about so any suggestions or help with the topics already mentioned would be greatly appreciated.

chose alice in wonderland because its all up to you and your imagination about whats going on

and then as an adult you interpert it two entirely different ways

What techniques can be used to select pertinent info. from related literature for your research topic?

Are there certain steps to consider when looking for topic-related information in related literature?

What techniques can be used to select pertinent info. from related literature for your research topic?
Synonymy/ hyponomy, Classification / reclassification, and Scale are some of the key concepts you should consider.

Synonymy is identification, what is something called. So you start out by searching for the key words for your topic.

Hyponomy is inclusion, what is things are associated with each other. Survey the results of your key word search to see what words can logically embrace or include other words. For example the words sister, daughter, mother can be included under female.

Classification is grouping objects based on a criteria or set of criterion. From the example above, you can make a group called female consisting of sister, daughter, mother.

Reclassification is changing the original grouping by changing the criteria. From the example above, you can reclassify the group by generation: First generation = mother, who might have a sister; Second generation = daughter, who might also have a sister. In this reclassification, you can see there is a potential for confusion with the term sister...how to tell on type from the other. So one possible solution is to create new identities....Aunt and cousin or examples of some possibilities.

Scale is the size or level / degree of detail. (I think you can see that from the examples above.)

One way to use scale is to examine the degree of relationship between the topics you find. This can be done by examining how direct or indirect (in math we examine independent / dependent variables). So examine the key topics you find for the logical ties...which must happen before the other. And, would you believe, this then helps you define how "pertinent" one topic is to another.

Hope this helps you. Best wishes in your studies.

Research Paper topic on anything from the Spanish American War to WWIII?

I've thought and thought and I dont have any good ideas. I have to write a 6-9 page research paper for history. The topic can be anything in between the events of from Spanish American War in 1898 to World War II. Does anyone have a good a idea/topic/thesis statement that I can prove for the paper?

Research Paper topic on anything from the Spanish American War to WWIII?
Suggested thesis statement or question: 'How important was the Zimmerman Telegram in bringing the US into WW1 ?' There is an excellent book on the topic by Barbara Tuchman , ''The Zimmerman Telegram', well-written and easy to read, which also talks about other factors relevant to the US decision to enter the war, any one of which could also be a good topic. The book should be available at any good library or on inter-library loan.
Reply:Perhaps why the following battles were considered as turning points in the second world war ; The Battle of Stalingrad ( the turning point for the Russians in their war with the Germans on The Eastern Front ) or The Battle of Midway ( the turning point for American forces in the war in the Pacific ) or The Battle of Britain ( when the British won the war in the air against the German Luftwaffe [Air-Force] ) or The Battle of Dien Bien Phu ( where the French began to lose the war in Indochine [Vietnam] ) .

Wikipedia has some excellent information on these pivotal events . Good luck on your paper !

:0)
Reply:your thesis could be along the lines of how america's imperialist policy led to the Spanish American War.

One my classes like is how modern military technology conflicted with 19th century tactics to make WWI the worst war the world had seen. Such technological advances as the machine gun, the submarine (u boat), the airplane, the tank, etc forced armies which had relied on cavalry and infantry charges to rethink their tactics.

you could discuss the effects of the media on wars, for instance, yellow journalism and its influence on america's involvement in the S/A war, or the propaganda that was used in america during WWI.

You could also discuss the reasons prohibition failed, or the reasons that the great depression occurred, such as the stock market crash of 1929 and the catastrophic droughts and dust storms (the dust bowl).

If you are a fan of "titanic" you could discuss the effects that the Titanic sinking had on the class structure of early 20th century america.

You could also write about racism in the United States following the 1st world war, and use examples like the Tulsa riots, or the Rosewood incident of 1923 in florida. On the other side of the coin, you could discuss the great migration of southern blacks, who had, since the civil war, engaged in rural lifestyles and occupations, to the cities of the north and the influence on american industry.

good luck on your paper.

How do I narrow a research topic that is about an emotion, physical function of that emotion within the body.?

I want to know how emotions are processed in what ever part of the body that they are processed. I want to know if emotions are necessary for our lives. How do they help us or hurt us.

How do I narrow a research topic that is about an emotion, physical function of that emotion within the body.?
Many emotions have an actual physical purpose. For example, fear. If you were out walking or something and a man with a knife jumped out of a bush, you would see him. Your brain would recognize the danger and you would experience somatic symptoms like butterflies in your stomach. What is known as the fight or flight response would be triggered, which means that your adrenaline would increase and you would then immediately almost without even thinking do something to protect yourself. This is connected to the survival instinct that humans are born with. Emotions are processed in frontal lobe of the brain, however, flight or fight response resonates in the brain stem and spinal cord.
Reply:We need emotion, dont you feel good being happy and excited, and how would you know if your happy if you are never sad. Chemicals in our brains cause emotions.

Research Paper Topics?

I am writing a research paper for my English class, and we have to have a topic by tomorrow. Our teacher gave us a list, and only one person can write about a person in ALL of her classes. All of the topics on the list were taken before i got to choose, so I need help in finding a topic. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks=]

Research Paper Topics?
I would love to help but what should the topic be about? What was on the list that would help us narrow something down for you? What are you interested in? How old are you? if it is a person you could write about Obama, Bill Clinton, Puffy and his empire. Go nuts!

Want help on research topics in public relations?

Try electric fields, energy fields, bio-chemistry and genetics. Excellent research material, isn't it? If that doesn't satisfy, maybe, try out psychology and also positive uses of psychic energy.

Does anyone of any good persuasive research topics??
You can write about Schizophrenia. Other countries have a fairly quick recovery rate for schizophrenia while in the U.S. schizophrenia is a life long illness.

You could also do how the lack of cultural competence in health care settings leads to many people not being able to or wanting to acess health care.

This is especially true in the Native American community.

You could write about the overdiagnosis of ADHD.

I mean it's normal for kids to want to run around. And if you consider that the brain becomes less active/able to learn after 20 minutes of sitting well that explains their inability to concetrate and need to move around after sitting in a classroom for way longer than 20 minute intervals.
Reply:You could write about how teens are abusing cold medication and why a person can't buy it off the shelf anymore.

There's a great website that offers a lot of good informaiton and resources.

If it touches the listeners on a personal bases, it will be good.

What is a good Research Paper topic for an English paper with a theme of "love"?

I have to write a research paper and the topic has to be related to "love" in some way. I want something that will be fairly easy to research though.

What is a good Research Paper topic for an English paper with a theme of "love"?
How about a theme of love and self destruction - love gone wrong? There are tons of sources and research on women and men who've ruined their lives or the lives of others - in the name of love -even in the Bible. Example being David and Bathsheba - a king, a man of God who started a war just to kill off that woman's husband - clearing the path for their love.
Reply:How about Shakespeare's constant theme of distorted love. For example, in Romeo and Juliet, when two youngsters from warring families fall in love. Or Hamlet, where Hamlet's mother Gertrude supposedly loves her son but does nothing to stop Claudius from manipulating Hamlet. Or in a Midsummer Night's Dream, where love is more of a spell than a feeling. You could take three or four of his works and come up with a thesis about how Shakespeare uses the concept of love and inverts it in a way that fuels the tragedies he writes.
Reply:You can survey TV series of today and come up with a thesis statement on how love is perceived nowadays as illustrated by these TV series. If not TV series, then maybe movies of a certain period, say 1980s or 2000 onwards; or songs, if music seems to be your interest.
Reply:Wuthering Heights- the different themes of love in there have plenty of material for a paper.
Reply:Courtly love in the Middle Ages. Lots of information, everything from Lancelot and Guinevere to troubadours. Also look for Eleanor of Aquitaine, who was queen of both France and England. She pretty much invented the concept.

I need to come up with a research based topic for my college class?

I was thinking about something to do with serial killers, or something that has to do with that. or would dreams be a good research topic??? I need help, this is my first ever research paper that I ever wrote. What are some good research topics that I could write about that have lots of information??? I like reading about true crimes, and watching court tv, if any of these things help??

I need to come up with a research based topic for my college class?
I would suggest a paper proving that prohibition actually gave rise to crime (e.g. organized crime) rather than protecting society as it was intended.
Reply:Dreams might be a good one, but you have to be careful as most of the "research" you'll find is subjective.

If you do serial killers, there is an abundance of information available. Academic studies, interviews, books, articles, websites, etc. Look at 1 or 2 specific aspects of them, though as just "serial killers" would be too broad. Maybe their educational backgrounds and if there's anything out there that shows a link between education %26amp; the serial killer mindset?
Reply:It would help to know what class you were writing it for? You would have a different topic for a history class as opposed to a sports medicine class for example.

What would be a good research topic on resource-based theory of strategic management?

The topic should be something that I can write a 15 - 20,000 word dissertation within a span of about 3 months. Preferably something that is interesting (adds to academic knowledge) and relatively easy to collect data on. Thanks.

Ideas/suggestions for a math research topic?
How about regarding the history of mathematics?

You could write about a particular mathematician or the introduction of certain numbers, like zero or imaginary numbers.

Your university library should have some great books on the subject. In fact look for the class offered at your school dealing with the history of math and check out the text book.

What is a good research topic for an 8th grader?

I have to write a paper that is only 5 paragraphs long so it can't be a large topic. Oh, I'm also looking for a topic that is fun and different.

What is a good research topic for an 8th grader?

I need evidence for the following research topic?

I have to make a presentation presenting evidence for my topic.

I want to present on how finding a cure for abnormalities like Down's Syndrome could possible lead to gene meddling in such a way as to create 'super' humans. Like perfect people intelligent and cooperative. I want to link it with eugenics or some type of evidence that this is indeed possible.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I need evidence for the following research topic?
Sorry, identifying the genes responsible for defects is not the same as identifying the genes that will make "super humans". For one thing, it depends on what you mean "super human". Intellegence is not linked to any single gene or any defined group of genes (there is not really agreement on exactly what intelligence is, is it math, language skills, visuallization skills, mechanical aptitude, logic, reason, high SAT scores, high IQ, or something else????). The very concept of a "perfect" human is not defined. Ask 100 people what a perfect human would be and you might get 100 different answers.

You might equally argue that optometry (the study of vision) is a slippery slope because it might be used to make humans with "super" eyesight. Maybe doctors should stop repairing broken bones because it might lead to humans with bones so strong they would be unbreakable.

A better topic might be the potential consequences of prenatal screening for gender. Many societies today value males more than females so, given the knowledge of sex of the embryo, some parents choose to abort females.

Unique research paper topics?

I need some new ideas.... no why abortion, smoking and drinking is wrong......these have all been done over and over. I need to convince my english professor of something and I need solid facts and good sources to get the information from. So, any unique research paper ideas out there?

Unique research paper topics?
I have written quite a few papers over overfishing:

Researchers found that 29 percent of fish species have collapsed to, or below, 10 percent of their original levels over the past 1,000 years (Smith). If this rate of fishing continues it is estimated by Boris Worm, a marine biologist at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada that by the year 2048 we will no longer have a fish supply of any sort

There is lots of information on it on the web, national geographic, books and scuba magazines as well. That way if you need a certain number of different types of sources its really easy.

Can get ya 15-20 pages easy.

1. The Presidential Election Process Today/How Has it Changed

2. History as Seen Through My Older Relatives' Eyes

3. How Education in America Has Lost it's Edge

4. Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq, Was it True?

5. Interviews of My State Representatives and Senators, and how their comments affect my generation

6. Today's Music, Are the Beatles Still influencing Pop Music?

This should get your ideas flowing enough to come up with a topic you can work with.
Reply:Why animal abusers should have stricter penalties. There are many sources out there showing that animal abuse leads to domestic violence and spousal/child abuse.
Reply:you could turn one of those questions around - for example, there was a recent study that discussed the fact that smokers may not actually be as much of a drain on the healthcare infrastructure in the US becuase they die earlier. Therefore, you could argue that perhaps smoking is not so bad (economically speaking.)
Reply:There use to be a library resource called SIRS which had a ton of great unique and common research paper topics. I would ask a librarian about it.

Here are a few.

Or, research post traumatic stress disorder. It's a huge, growing problem with all the vets coming back and surviving wounds that people would have died from in Vietnam, but now they have to deal with the psychological aftermath. And the system just isn't prepared to handle these kind of problems.

How do I look up topics(hotels) for a research paper?

Finding a research topic is probably the hardest thing to do. Hotels? I'm not sure if I understand your question, but if you want to do a research paper on hotels, you must develop a thesis statements. To do this, you have to gather alot of background information, on either one hotel, or a group of hotels. Then, begin asking questions like: how did hotels orginate? What are some misconceptions about hotels? Then, develop a thesis statement: Hotels through out American history, have played a signficant role in the development of the country. (I'm not sure if it is) Then what you need to do is go back threw all of that information you looked up, and give supporting details. The most important part is that you are able to support your thesis statement, becuase if you do, there should be no reason why you don't get an A+ on your paper.

Have fun! Research papers are a great way to learn new things :)

What are some good topics for college research papers?

What are some good topics for college research papers?

A local library would have specific hotels. It depends what the focus is on... concierge service? Interiors? History of? etc...Check out a barnes and noble that has a good section on hotels. There are really innovative hotels in Barcelona. First find a country then a city of your interest. This sounds like fun.

Any good topics for research paper for VLSI?

hey guys............

if u can help me out with any good topic to present or to write about. It should be related to technology and VLSI is better.

Any good topics for research paper for VLSI?
Well DARPA already has a "computer on a chip"

so it wont be long before you see them in iphones.

Reply:Integration of a CPU, and RAM memory within 1 chip. I see this as something coming, so why not write a paper on it. I'm not referring to the cache memory used with a CPU, but the external RAM that we now add to a mother board being incorporated with a CPU in the complete chip.
Reply:A good topic might on the design and use of accelerator chips. Accelerators are found in many applications now. The number of special accelerators for 3D graphics cards, network accelerators, video codec accelerators, GPS, and other areas is growing at the rapid rate. Some even think that this trend will lead to changes in CPU design.

If you like the RAM/CPU idea then a good twist on it is how it will never happen on a large scale. RAM processes have now diverged so far from logic processes in the last 3-5 years that except for very niche products it is far too expensive and impractical to do this.

What are some good research topics?
Something that interests you so you will WANT to research it.
Reply:I just had my classes write compare or contrast essays, and many of them compared two seemingly different religions to show there are more commonalities than imagined (which was an eye-opener for them, considering most wars are waged over differences of religion).

I also had several compare the Vietnam and Iraq wars.

Another one was contrasted two Democratic runners in the '08 presidential campaign to see where the real differences in agenda were. One girl compared a Democratic candidate to Bush to show where there is common ground in their agendas and leadership styles. (She had a hard time with that one!)

The one that touched me the most was a paper written comparing the genocide in Darfur to the Holocaust. Very thought provoking.

Reply:Well...If it absolutely has to be a Problem/Solution essay, you could talk about a problem the United States or the world in general is having...i.e. Global Warming, the United States Housing Problem, the war between Iraq and America, etc. (For example, Global Warming: Explain what it is, how it's caused, how close we are to it, helpful solutions for lessening Global Warming...etc)

If it doesn't have to be a Problem/Solution essay, you could always talk about country's culture (for example, Japan...samurai, geisha, anime, technology, etc) or about a war. If you do a war, I suggest saying what events led up to the war, talking in great detail about the first and last battles, and any other major battles...

You could also do an essay on your career of choice. In fact, I'm doing one now, though mine only has to be 1-2 pages. If you do careers, I suggest going to the Occupational Outlook Handbook (http://www.bls.gov/OCO/ ; just type the career in the "search the Handbook" search bar). It's very useful; It talks about what the job really is, the salary, the job's future outlook, related jobs etc.

Other than those three suggestions, I can't exactly think of much else...

Research topics in human resource management?

The big topic now is global management and how to get the best out of an international team.

SOme questions are:

How often should the teams travel across countries?

Which team members should travel?

Who should deliver cross-cultural training, a local, a non-local, or someone in between?

What's the value of net meetings as compared with face-to-face travel?

Good Luck :)

What are some interesting topics to research?

Be specific

What are some interesting topics to research?
Secession

The study of history

The proper roles of men and women at home and in society

Methods of education

The arguments for and against various political issues like abortion, gay marriage, national debt, etc.

The detrimental effect political correctness is having on our country.
Reply:Evolutionary ethics
Reply:This TOTALLY depends on what your interests are. Some people like researching diseases, while others like to research animals or the environment or even where an invention came from. There are just too many factors involved to figure out what YOUR view of interesting would be. besides, i don't even know what your specifications are (why you need a topic or what you're going to do with it).
Reply:A few fun research ideas:

- How we got the everyday necessities we think we couldn't possibly live without -- from simple things like "Who invented the paperclip?" to huge time savers like "Who invented the washing machine?" and "How did they make cloth before there were machines?"

- Also... diets and nutrition are interesting for research; every fad diet claims to be soooo good for your health and helpful for weight loss, and lots of them give conflicting advice. That might make for some fun research.

- Third and final idea: research people's attitudes/customs. Maybe do a survey to find out how different people celebrate a holiday... there's more variation than you might imagine. And finding the ways we differ while looking at the ways we're all the same sort of strengthens our bonds as a community.

- OK, one more... This one I'd love to see someone write a book on. Money saving tips. During the Great Depression, housewives came up with all kinds of ingenious ways to stretch what they had. For instance, they cut up the wax paper that came in packaging and used it to wrap sandwiches. They used a knife to flatten the toothpaste tubes so they could squeeze every little bit out. There are lots of other examples... you could interview really old people and find out all kinds of stuff about that. Actually, interviewing old people is a great way to do research because it's firsthand stuff and most eldery people (especially the ones in nursing homes) crave conversation with people who are interested and polite. So you're doing them a favor even as they do you one...

Does anyone have a good idea for a research topic?

I'm in Junior English in high school and i have to come up with a topic to do a 10 page research paper on. It can be anything, but i need it to be something interesting and meaningful, that way, i'll be able to keep my attention on it. I need to have at least an outline for my teacher tomorrow... which would kind of require actually having a topic! (this is the first time i've ever actually procrastinated anything!)

Does anyone have a good idea for a research topic?
How about the history of human cadavers? A great book on the subject is Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach. It's a whole book on the subject so getting a ten page research paper out of it should be fairly easy. The book is a great read and fun even though the subject matter may seem a little morbid. I couldn't put it down and I bet your teacher would be surprised and extremely interested in how human cadavers have contributed to society as a whole
Reply:You can do anything you have an interest in--if you are a musician, the history of a certain instrument or the biographies of people who make up a band, swimmer--events and competitions, farmer--crops, schedules, yields, etc., college bound--compare two schools programs, costs, graduation rates etc., hobby--history, supplies, creative examples, you get the idea.
Reply:That's a pretty open ended assignment! Huh. Maybe pick an author you like, find out about his/her life, and write about how his/her life is reflected in their work?
Reply:a current political topic is always good

some little known thing from history (ex: slavery in Africa, propaganda during the revolutionary war, etc.)

diseases (black death is intersting but not original, smallpox?)

try that
Reply:Try picking something in Biology or starting a business as an owner.

Biology outline suggestion:

Biomes of the Earth, pick two that may interest you and compare them, e.g., Tundra vs Savannah or Arctic biomes then present the climates; life forms--flora %26amp;/or animal; etc.

Business Owner outline suggestion:

Decide what kind of business that is lucrative (may make good money) like video game/DVD sales to other executives or professionals. Present who you think your market would be and how to reach them, etc.

Another suggestion:

What made you get the nerve to start IM or other vehicles for communicating on the Internet. Describe what other kinds of people or hits there are on the Net and why.

Hope these suggestions spark your creative juices for a topic. Google keywords to speed up the research but don't rely too heavily on Wikipedia facts and figures. I got burned when using their less-than-accurate "facts".
Reply:Should there be places like this on the internet where all kids have to do is write a question from their homework and people automatically give them the answer and the kids have to do nothing?

I wish I had such things when I was in school.
Reply:Here are come topics that are very interesting! RUBY BRIDGES (my favorite), cuban missle crisis, unabomber, cold war, world war I and II.
Reply:Renewable energy. You could do wind, biomass, trash, ethanol, solar, hydro.
Reply:You could do your research on the holocaust/genocide.

Google - "...Results 1 - 10 of about 24,300,000 for holocaust..."

If you do not know what the holocaust is...

"...Holocaust The genocide of European Jews and others by the Nazis during World War II..."

I'm in 8th grade, AP English.

My friend and I made a "Book review" on one book about the holocaust for a project, we ended up with over 12 pages of question...

I'm not sure if you like the idea, but if it was detailed enough, included pictures, descriptive writing, etc. I'm sure it would have a strong effect on your class/teacher.

If you haven't already, I suggest you watch the movie "Schindler's List". That is, if you plan on using this topic.

does it exist? what are the symptoms? can it be cured?

is the internet just an outlet for the addictive personality that would otherwise take a worse outlet (drugs, alcohol)

Reply:Obsessive compulsive disorder. I did a research paper on it and it kept me very interested especially when I started reading about people that actually had the disorder. Using the case studies will help out as a filler since you need to wirte 10 pages. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Health and Social Care Research Topics?

OK... it's coursework so I REALLY should be doing this myself but I'm months behind so I'm desperate.

I need a hypothesis for my research assignment. It has to be relevant to Health and Social Care... I can't think of any subjects that I can apply a decent hypothesis.

Any help ANYONE can give me will be appreciated.

Health and Social Care Research Topics?
Hypothesis : Social Inclusion can lead to Social Exclusion.

Within the Mental Health Framework for Great Britain. Basically they want everyone out of day centres and say that all should be socially included. Though many of the people have been taken away from day centres actually have no where to go as they find mixing or social situations too difficult to handle.

Gov. etc. would argue that no one would be discharged from a day centre if they were that bad....but they are...In fact the number of groups for therapy within the safe place of the daycentre has been drastically reduced.

(Cynics might say the Gov. did this to save money....I agree)

They tried care in the community in the 1980's it didn't work then either so they've just got a new name for the same old thing.

There's so much more on this you can read about....remember Gov. puts positive slant on it....ask the people who are affected and they'll tell you so will many of the staff.

Social inclusion is good to a point but not when the person isn't well enough.

have perfect teeth

What are some REALLY REALLY REALLY COOL topics to research?

I have a deadline tomorrow for a high school english honors research paper. it needs to be on a topic that is not too vague, yet not so small...it needs to be at least 5 pages, which means a lot of info. last year i did a paper on how rap and hip hop has affected the world socially, economically, etc. and i did so well on it because im so interested in it...i desperately need help on a research topic!

ps. not to be picky, but im not really into history and politics, such as pro-choice and affirmative action, im looking for something fresh and exciting, yet applies to what i wrote above...thanks!

What are some REALLY REALLY REALLY COOL topics to research?
well if you like sciences you can do it over toxins and venoms

I was reading a nice article in wikipedia and there are los you can expand on
Reply:Try searching for random stuff. Look for subjects such as the history (sorry) of rock and roll, or how different cultures affected American music. You seem to be into music, and history is a good way to go. Sorry that you don't like it.
Reply:I don't know about "cool", but a great topic (one that might surprise them all too) is surrogacy. There are so many avenues you can take with a paper like that, you could easily fill up 5-10 pages on that in one night. Especially if you take more of a sociological attitude about it, not political.

I know this may not have helped you, but if this isn't it, I sure do hope you find the topic that grabs you!

Best of luck!
Reply:gay rights, or right to marriage is a hot fresh topic. Um, also the findings of various government sponsored research in the affects and benefits of medical marijuana and why it should be legalized is another one.
Reply:Whiteness theory and institutional racism.

Really interesting topics about how racism is still present in the US even though its not as obvious as it once was.
Reply:Research paper.

Procrastinators globally salute your chutzpah!

Reply:search up some things that pez. george w bush is doing
Reply:try looking up the righteousness of Auto De Fey. (I say righteousness with tongue in cheek) It would be a terrible horror movie if it weren't real. The Inquisition was real, it lasted 300+ years and Torquemada tortured people in the most grotesque ways imaginable!

This is where our American forefathers came up with the ideals for religious freedom. It's not the "right" to take the day off because of your "religious beliefs." It's the right to not have a red hot iron poker shoved up your a** for not siding with the Catholic church!

interesting reading...
Reply:Try songs about girlfriends/lovers- why men sing them %26amp; how it changes the pschy of others to make life better or worst r/t rap %26amp; reality. eg. 'Song - A cheap quack for social phobics' lol. Cheers, 99

What do you think constitutes abuse? What's good about it? Do you think people trust the answers? etc. Good Luck! English was my best subject at school. Before you were born.
Reply:Something about technology? Also if you like theme parks you can do how the Roller coaster types have changed. I have done that before. And its not really that hard.

Good intro to chemistry topics for research papers?
Maybe a paper on why chemicals have a certain color and relate it to excited electron states and all that crap?

Please give suggestions for a research/thesis topics for the undergrad course of electronics engineering?

You may want to choose something that is relavent to the times. Dealing with possible future issues that will impact the planet in a great deal.

For instance how will zero-point energy systems be developed and what part will the EE have in bringing them to mainstream use. How can institute research play a part in separating the reality from the fiction. How will this impact existing systems like hydroelectric, wind, solar and oil generation systems? Can it be adapted to mobile use for roads, rail and waterways?

What part will the works of pioneers like Steven Marks, Tom Bearden and John Hutchison play in these developments?

There's one idea. :)

What is a good research paper topic for George Orwell?

I need to write a research paper on George Orwell relating to his books: "1984" and "Keep the Aspidistra Flying". I've read both books and understand them both, but I cant come up with a topic to research. Please only post actual topic questions, rather than suggestions.

What is a good research paper topic for George Orwell?
George Orwell was considered at the time of writing as rather "out there" as far as his vision of the future. Now, he is considered prophetic by many. An interesting topic would be to compare several items that Orwell "foretold" by his writings and show how his vision has been realized or how it shortly will be realized by present day societies.
Reply:I've only read 1984, but you might want to research his political views and opinions. Write about how they influenced his writing. Like I know that 1984 is supposed to be anti-communist and a fictional version of the Soviet Union's government under Lenin (or Stalin--can't remember which).
Reply:Gosh... I would probably write on how much his writing style improved from one of his first novels to his most important. "Keep the Aspidistra Flying" is pretty terrible.

I would probably write on the importance of the female love interest to the plot/message of the novel. Actually, I think that is the best.

Compare/Contrast Julia's role to the woman in Aspidistra (I forgot her name)

I am about to start with a great research topic in biological sciences?

Does it really matter from which university you do you research or is the kind of research (masters thesis) you do more important.

I am about to start with a great research topic in biological sciences?
I believe it's the kind of research that counts, although if you do it at a renowned research university, that is always better!

I have a subject called Science and Tech Research, Im looking for a research topic, could you give me an idea?

I'm a science high school student and I have a subject called Science and Tech Research, Im looking for a novel, useful, and a potentially helpful research topic, could you give me an idea? I mean could you advise and give me good topics?

How about The future of Nanotechnology. You could narrow it down to specific fields like medical or military. Or just the history of it, where it is today and where it's going...the downsides...etc. There are alot of websites regarding the subject just type in the future of Nanotechnology and you'll see. Good luck on your project!
