Stem cell research topics?

im doing a research paper for school on stem cells and i need to find the five major topics about stem cell research. like what is always talked about in the discussion of stem cells, etc. for example ethics but i need help finding all 5

Reply:So here are some good pointers, cuz i have to do this tommorow as a debate. this isn't five but it helps.

1) Much stem cell research is done on the 5 day embryonic stage, not the 6 month abortion age.

2) Stem cell's can also be found in adults as well as cut umbillical cords from newborn babies.

3) If the against people are saying "What about the value of human life, or life in a much broader sense?" then use this.

i. the embryo is only 5 days old, and it isn't technically life yet. (this is very controversial, so talk about this BREIFLY."

ii.(this is my favorite point) Now, the military spent 520 billion dollars in the year 2006. Stem cell research is costing us about 25 million a year. Stem cell research saves lives, 2 billion dollar F-16's don't. By just giving up one f-16, we can pay for another 32 yrs of stem cell research. Now if we're SOOO obsessed with killing people, then why keep creating 2 billion dollar F-16's that kill "adult" people, when we can spend 25 million dollars on "killing" 5 day old embryo's and putting research that can make humans live longer, and benefit us in the long term?

use the military to your advantage, it's a great point.

What best topics should I use in my research about electromagnetics application?
You can do a whole book on different types of electric motors. Most motors use electromagnetics to function. Categories are AC, DC, brushed, induction, stepper. Each has advantages and disadvantages. Determine the torque speed curves and efficiencies. I am sure you can think up enough material that you will have to limit your research.

Even Mankind started several dozens of thousands of years back

The BIG Bang Theory is in "ADHARVANA VEDA" in that veda there is a chapter "SATHAPATHA BRAHMANA" it says about evaluation of universe , which exactly matches with Bigbang theory%26gt;And the calculations of Hinduism exactly match with the science about universe and planets.And Hinduism says the earth is round ( IT says earth is BHUGOLA and BRAHMANDA – means round in shape. This is mentioned in the Hindu books written thousands of years back).Number of planets around sun, time taken by them for one rotation for each planet, their colours, size etc( These calculations were done thousands of years back by Hindus)And Hinduism says inetially there was a sound "OHM" it was considered as GOD and from God.The same greatness of Hinduism is accepted by new testament %26gt; The starting of New testament says "At the beginning there was a word …….. , it is GOD" The word is nothing but "OHM" of Hindusm%26gt;

Looking for some good research topics about Housekeeping Dept. in a 4-star hotel....HELP ME PLEASE!?

I'm going to start an internship program at a hotel for my college requirement. The internship program requires me to do a research or a project about one specific department that I'm going to work in.

One hotel has decided to let me do my internship program in their housekeeping department. However, I still couldn't find a good topic for my research paper or my project about that dept.

Descriptions: This hotel is a 4-star hotel (upper-scale) and it is under the union regulations.

Some of my friends that will work at the same dept. at another hotels have came up with some good topics on their own such as "Developing an effective Housekeeping Staff Training Manual" (project topic example) or "How to control the inventory cost of the Housekeeping Dept.?" (research topic example).

Can somebody help me finding other good research or project topics about this particular department?I'm really confused and really need some help about this..

Thank you so much for helping!

Looking for some good research topics about Housekeeping Dept. in a 4-star hotel....HELP ME PLEASE!?
I used to be a housekeeper in a luxury retirement home. Believe it or not, running a housekeeping department is quite complicated. If I were to do a project on the subject, here are some angles I would consider:

*Don't do your project on the training manual*

- controlling the inventory cost. State-of-the-art vacuums cost money, as do the chemicals they use.

- do you pay your workers by the hour, or by comission? pros and cons.

- maintaining customer convenience while keeping the standard of cleanliness.

there are lots of others you can do. my advice is, interview a few housekeeping supervisors and ask about their biggest challenges.
Reply:Why is housekeeping an important factor in the Hospitality trade?

How is it related to customer service ? Describe its importance in supporting the integrity and pride of the hotel's mission statement...Explain why it can make or ruin a hotel's name if there is no structure in its housekeeping department...........
Reply:what about the pros/cons of allowing pets in the rooms.

Or maybe the pros/cons of having smoking rooms in hotels.

What topics could i use for a research paper on hypnosis?

What topics could i use for a research paper on hypnosis?
Seeing as it has not been proven yet that it actually works, most books and websites focus on the history of hypnosis, rather than current practices and effects. So I would recommend doing a paper on the history of hypnosis. Here's some links to get you started:

http://www.systemsthinker.com/writingscr...

http://www.essortment.com/all/hypnosishi...

http://www.danielolson.com/hypnosis/hypn...

But...if you find history to be a bit boring (as I do), another possible topic might be methods of hypnosis. Some of these "treatments" can be pretty wacky and it might be interesting to do something on them. Once again, links:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnosis#Ge...

http://www.asch.net/index.htm

Or maybe its effects on the brain

http://www.emaxhealth.com/6/3488.html

And just some sites to help you in general:

Hope this helped!
Reply:I am in the same boat as you however my reserach paper is due next week! I don't know if yours is too, but how bout what it does to your brain? Or how it works? Or both? Don't make it too general though, my teacher ragged on everyone for making it too general.. Maybe you could look at my question and help me out too? (that is not why I answered this btw if you were thinking it! )
Reply:Why are some people more easily hypnotized than others?

What keeps some people from being hypnotized at all?

How does the brain react when hypnotized?

Does a hypnotized person react positively to all suggestions, or do they stop at those which are morally repugnant (such as murder, theft, etc)?

I need help on my research topic for my english class?

My teacher wants us to write research paper, but she wants the topic as specific as possible. Here's my topic so far:

Music and the effects on the human mind.

How can I make that more specific?

I need help on my research topic for my english class?
First of all, awesome topic!!!

You could narrow it in different ways.

You need to choose which you're going to focus on more, music or brain.

For music, you could talk about the different emotions that different types of music bring. What part of the brain they make act up or something. Certain body functions...stuff like that. How music helps the brain, how music affects choices...

If you want to go with brain, talk a lot about the function of the brain and other things as well as music that change the way it works or have impact on.

Good luck!
Reply:how music affects emotion. research whether or not certain styles of songs (slow and sad, for example) make the listener sadder. or switch it around, are people more likely to listen to happy music when they're sad, or sad music?

good luck.

A few years ago 200 people paid in for one person collecting. In 2025 4 people make up for 1. These Numbers might be quite a bit off but you get the idea. Imagine $700 a month for ssn deductions. What would be a good research topic under the subject Body Language?

This is a psychology research paper and just the topic body language seems a bit broad.

What would be a good research topic under the subject Body Language?
Well, I just did one on the facial cues of deception. Psychologist Paul Ekman and Wallace Friesen's research would be a good source for facial expression and detecting deception.

There are tons of research done on nonverbal behavior and deception. Aldert Vrij, Smantha man, and DePaulo are other good researchers, just to name a few.

You can focus on one aspect, either the face or body. The body in particular, shows reliable cues of deception when a person is lying, particularly a decline of illustrators and foot movements. (When a person is lying, body movements significantly decrease. Conversely when a person is telling the truth, they use their body to communicate).

You can also do research into the morphology of Duchenne smile versus non-enjoyment smiling. Paul Ekman has also done plenty of research into this.

Try researching how people's perceptions of history can be influenced by popular culture. Dan Brown insisted (at first) that the historical claims in his novel were "all true". But historians and art experts quickly dismissed his claims as junk. Despite this, many of Brown's readers became convinced that his novel was well-researched and that they were learning factual information about history and art from his novel. The link below has lots of information about what Brown claimed was factual and why he was wrong and its Bibliography page should help you with sources.

I need some ideas of things i could reasearch that would keep the topic narrow Keep your topic narrow, for example World War II, you would have to cover every battle, every person, etc. That is too broad.. anyone have any ideas?

Ok i have to have a list of research topics that interest me and have to make it 3 pages long...?
There are billions of ideas. What are your areas of interest? What basic topic does it have to be on or is the field wide open?

I'd advise you to sit down and write down what your main interests are along the lines of the topics you have to use. Then, brainstorm about what things you could write about under each of those interests. After you have this kind of list, pick out a few of the ones that are most interesting to you and think about how much there is to say about such a topic. If you can think of many different directions to go, like in the area of WW 2, take only one of those directions and narrow it down more. Keep doing that until it is manageable.

Three pages is really not that long and you would have to have a pretty specific topic to work with to keep it to only 3 pages.
Reply:the key word is YOU... What interests you. Give me that and I'll work on narrowing the topic.

Your idea isn't that lame - maybe you just need to focus on the why and what would change the behaviour? Would lower CD prices reduce piracy, has technology made it inevitable, the human rights issue of PCs having anti-piracy chips (like DVD recorders have) etc.

Go with your instinct, you obviously have an interest in the subject and that is worth a lot. This subject will also be easy to get info on from the big companies like Sony as I am sure they are keen to spread their message.

Make sure you get a pro/con spread though - lurk in the piracy chat rooms and get the genuine opinions. Pirates are folks like you and me.

My Research topics has been done by somebody before?

Hi All,

What should I do ?

I have decided my research interest, but when I am searching the materials (related things), I could find other thesis almost the same topic, but this is PhD thesis.

Below are my doubts :

1) What should I do ? can I still carry on my research interest to go pursue my education ?

2) So what is the different between thesis Master and Doctorate programme ?

What I have known is only that you have to have your initiative more to reach the knowledge, (compare to bachelor degree where I have taken that lecturer explain it in the classroom -maybe different country different approaches)

PS. if Bachelor degree, As far as I know, our "bachelor thesis" (what should I call this, every country has different term) is about implementation and analysis after what we have studied as Bachelor degree. Please correct me if I am wrong. How about in Master or Doctorate programme ?

Please share ur experience and idea, I need guidance.

Thank you,

Sandi

I was thinking of doing something about the ESRB Rating or Violence in Media. but I want some more choices. Any help would be appreciated.

High School Science Research Topics?

I'm studying H3 in the Philippines, with an advanced knowledge in Biology. I am now studying General Chemistry 2, and we are supposed to search for a good research topic in our Research class, more preferably, a research %26amp; development kind of topic. Please suggest doable topics, as I am only in high school, and resources in our school are scarce... :)

It is much better if the topic has something to do with helping the Filipino community (ex. in disasters, oil spills)

Please help me... Thanks a lot!!!

P.S. We are grouped into threes only... :D

High School Science Research Topics?
An excellent topic would be to research the flaws and shortcomings of the recent disaster relief.

For example, in New Orleans, USA, Hurrican Katrina showed up many deficiencies: rescue vehicles could not get into the area, the leaders failed to take decisive action, no water safety precautions had been taken beforehand, there was no central agency in charge of listing or locating family members, etc.

This information would be easy to find through your local disaster refielf officials. They'll be glad to give their opinion. The Red Cross would also be a good resource.

Once you identify the flaws, you can then develop a plan to correct them in the future.

Good Luck...

Can anyone give me a specific research topic related to marketing and entrepreneurship?
You could research what are the most common type of marketing strategies and techniques used by female business owners in that region, especially in high poverty areas.

There has been a great international movement to help women in impoverished areas to develop viable businesses to support their families. This is helping to, in the long term, provide education for the children in those regions...a grassroots movement to enhance societies and economies.

I don't have a specific resource, as this is more from word of mouth and looking into the inner-workings of some newer companies that are selling imported products in the USA.

What would be a good Sports Marketing Research topic (study)? Something that can be researched and tested?

I'm having a hard time coming up with a good research topic for a class I'm taking in college. I want to do something in the field of Sports Marketing but I am having a hard time thinking of topics that are testable. By testable I mean that these topics need to be tested through surveys, sampling, etc.

Any Ideas?

What would be a good Sports Marketing Research topic (study)? Something that can be researched and tested?
A few ideas:

is there interest in selling assigned seating to games played in a bleacher style gym - some people like the top row where there is some back support; some like front row; others want something else? you could do a survey of people on their way into the gym, find out how much they'd be willing to pay, see if it is a total bomb - just make sure you tell them it is just for your class or you'll have some folks ticked off forever....

find out if there is interest in starting a Bball or hockey or tennis or ??? exhibition match. Like the pre-season BBall tournaments in Hawaii and Alaska (great Alaska shootout). Obviously this might be bigger than you could pull off, but you could find out if there is interest in the topic. Once again, the preseason tourneys recruit student atheletes. A Division II student has little worries about getting on national TV - unless their university has a big tournament that draws division I players - the television of the events on ESPN is what draws good Div. II players to the school - and it helps athletes get exposure.

Smaller items - new surface of an athletic field, roof for it, or build it period..... sold by a marketing idea - an auction for sports related items, dinner made by coach, selling labor of football team members for a day (money goes to team not to player).

hope it helps
Reply:Two ideas. What is the per share profit derived from having an NFL or MLB stadium branded with a corporate name, such as Busch Stadium in St Louis or SAFECO field in Denver.

Or

What is the profit ratio involved with sponsoring a community sports team; such as Bob's barber shop having their name on a little league team uniform. Or is it used as a charitable write off.
Reply:shoes?
Reply:Maybe consider supplements. All athletes take them you could compare and contrast which supplements work best for certain sports but they of course have to be legal. Or you can do the huge industry of soccer which is the most popular sport, Adidas is the #1 soccer brand, I'm also in a marketing class currently, so maybe you could research nike and see how they could boost their revenue by attracting more of the soccer world. Or why adidas is so successful in the sport and why they are actually number 1.

What are some specific interesting topics to research?

My dear, interesting topics are all around you! OK, let's start right where you are: your computer. What is its history? Who designed the particular things you use, hardware and software? Who owns the copyrights to the book on the shelf over your head, and how did they get involved in such a topic? Can you find his or her biography on the Internet?

Or go out to the kitchen for a snack. What is the nutritional value of that snack, and how does it compare with your next most favorite snack foods? What would a diet composted entirely of packaged, don't-have-to-cook foods consist of? Could one get all the essential nutrients that way? Or a diet for the homeless, that can't cook or refrigerate anything? Would camping information apply to them?

So now you need to go to the bathroom. Who invented the thing you're sitting on? (I'm told the name was Thomas Crapper, that he was English. Can you find his name in real history, or is he an urban legend?)

You see? They're all around you! Contemplate anything that has significance to your life, and chances are there is a story attached. The history, the science, the math, the law, the politics, even the language and literature, of a particular item. (Who writes those things on the package? What labeling laws do they have to obey?)

What are some specific interesting topics to research?
My goodness, that list would be endless!! To get started how about:

The history of the Bubonic plague

The recent Midwest mumps outbreak

American football vs. European football

An Ivy League education vs. a public college education and the ensuing career paths and earning potentials of those graduates

The most common college majors in the United States and in other countries

The history of American High School Cheerleaders and the "debate" over whether competitive Cheerleading is a sport unto itself

The most popular pets that people own

The most traveled to countries

Foreign adoptions and the rising popularity of celebrity adoptions

The rise of homeschoolers in the United States in recent years, especially among non-religious families
Reply:I don't know what class this may be for, but you might consider doing something relevant to recent history. For instance, if I were in school again, I would write a thesis on the effects of hurricane Katrina on the commodities markets. Of course, gas prices are obvious buy you could go so much deeper. Fuel surcharges biting into local governments and small businesses. Gravel, steel, and concrete prices doubling, causing slowdowns and major cuts in new development in public and private sectors.

You can take any angle you want to start from.... politics, economics, technology, human interest. I would be glad to read or co-write something like that.
Reply:Abandonded buildings. I did a research paper on why buildings are abandoned, here are some really cool pictures and sites that I found. The one in Japanese, you can't read it (unless you know the language) but its pretty easy to navigate throught the pictures.

I also did a research paper on Lice... I don't advise it... i'm still having nightmares! lol
Reply:In science: the ethics of specific biotechnology applications (like stemn cell research or genetically modified crop plants), renewable energy (wind, solar), and water quality issues (e.g., pollution in the Chesapeake Bay.)

In social science: the sociology of illegal immigrant populations, racism versus classism (studying whether behaviors labeled "racism" are in fact based on class distinctions.)

In the Humanities: the history of the middle east, Israel, or Iraq; Folk art in the United States; the birth and evolution of hip hop/rap music.

These are a few I would find interesting. Your interests may be much different. i would suggest looking at a newspaper, locating a topic that seems interesting to you, then dig into it.

have fun!

Reply:THE HOLOCAUST

During World War II, Nazi Germany and its collaborators murdered approximately six million Jews. The Holocaust is the name used to refer to this systematic, bureaucratic, and state-sponsored campaign of persecution and murder. Beginning with racially discriminatory laws in Germany, the Nazi campaign expanded to the mass murder of all European Jews

During the era of the Holocaust, the Nazis also targeted other groups because of their perceived "racial inferiority": Roma (Gypsies), people with disabilities, and some of the Slavic peoples (Poles, Russians, and others). Other groups were persecuted on political and behavioral grounds, among them Communists, Socialists, Jehovah's Witnesses, and homosexuals.

"Holocaust" is a word of Greek origin meaning "sacrifice by fire." The Nazis came to power in Germany in January 1933. The Nazis frequently used euphemistic language to disguise the true nature of their crimes. According to this vocabulary, Germans were considered "racially superior" and the Jews, and others deemed "inferior," were "life unworthy of life."

In 1933, the Jewish population of Europe stood at over nine million. Most European Jews lived in countries that Nazi Germany (the Third Reich) would occupy or influence during World War II. The Nazis established concentration camps to imprison Jews, other people targeted on ethnic or “racial” grounds, and political opponents. Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, beginning World War II. Over the next two years, German forces conquered most of Europe.

During the war years, the Nazis and their collaborators created ghettos (to isolate Jewish populations) and thousands of new camps for the imprisonment of targeted groups and forced labor. Following the invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941, Einsatzgruppen (mobile killing units) carried out mass-murder operations against Jews, Roma, and Soviet state and Communist party officials. More than a million Jewish men, women, and children were murdered by these units, usually in mass shootings. Between 1942 and 1944, Nazi Germany deported millions more Jews from occupied territories to extermination camps, where they murdered them in specially developed killing facilities using poison gas. At the largest killing center, Auschwitz-Birkenau, transports of Jews arrived almost daily from across Europe.

Although Jews were the primary victims of Nazi racism, others targeted for death included tens of thousands of Roma (Gypsies) and at least 200,000 mentally or physically disabled people. As Nazi tyranny spread across Europe, the Germans persecuted and murdered millions of other people. More than three million Soviet prisoners of war were murdered or died of starvation, disease, or maltreatment. The Germans killed tens of thousands of non-Jewish Polish intellectual and religious leaders, and deported millions of Polish and Soviet citizens for forced labor. From the earliest years of the Nazi regime, homosexuals and others deemed to be socially unacceptable were persecuted. Thousands of political dissidents (including Communists, Socialists, and trade unionists) and religious dissidents (such as Jehovah's Witnesses) were also targeted. Many of these individuals died as a result of incarceration and maltreatment.

In the final months of the war, SS guards forced camp inmates to march hundreds of miles without shelter in an attempt to prevent the Allied liberation of large numbers of prisoners. As Allied forces moved across Europe in a series of offensives, they began to encounter and liberate concentration camp prisoners. World War II ended in Europe with the unconditional surrender of German armed forces in the west on May 7 and in the east on May 9, 1945.

By war’s end, close to two out of every three Jews in Europe had been murdered by Nazi Germany and its collaborators in the massive crime we now call the Holocaust.

Research topics about depression?
Everyone knows about Bipolar, but very few people are aware of Bipolar II otherwise known as Soft Bipolar. These people are usually just diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder and therefore don't get the proper medication and treatment. Soft Bipolar is a disorder that has the depression but no manic episodes so it is very hard to diagnose. I have a friend who has been being treated for years for depression with very little relief. She suffered suicidal thoughts for thirty years. She was on an antidepressant, one of many the doctor had tried her on over the years. Even while on it she had little relief from severe mood swings rendering her socially paralyzed. With the new information her doctor added another medication that had been used on patients with Bipolar I and Schizophrenia. Once she started taking the new medication she stopped being depressed and was soon able to have an interest in life again.

Whatever you choose to write on I wish you the best. Just give it your all. Knowledge is Power.

I need some interesting topics for an upcoming research paper. Can someone give me some ideas?
Global warming?!? Sorry, but boring! Unless you can take a giant ice block and melt it with a hair dryer to show the effects.

What are you interested in? If it's science, go that route. If it's animals, go that route. I suggested before that you choose something that would include experiments. You know that the teacher will make you stand up and give at least a 5 minute talk about your topic. Nothing would be cooler to the other students if you did an experiment, and it worked-so practice first. YOU need to find something that you are interested in and go with that. If you DON'T then you will HATE writing the paper, won't put as much into it, and will get a bad grade. Choose something that you like, and go with it. Just make it informational and fun!
Reply:how about writing a paper on Mount Weather. This is an underground place, where buildings, cafeteria, hospitals, streets, sidewalks, private apts and dormitories, a water purification system, a small lake fed by fresh water of underground origin.

It has a transit system. A building where congress can meet, the president can preside over government, all underground. It is to be used in the event, America is ever under attack from another country and we are hit by a nuclear bomb. Almost no one ever reports on this. The entrance to this is above ground and the appalachian trail passes close to it. If you are a hiker and get close to it your sketch pad and cameria will be taken from you and not returned until you are some ways away from the trail.

This is like the underground place for the government in WVa at White Sulphur Springs, but that one was found out and is no longer used. Some of the underground buildings are three stories high. this top secret government installation is located near bluemont VA

Fema Spokesman Bob Blair told Time Magazine, that he could tell Time about Mount Weather, but he would have to kill them afterward. This is a joke of course, but so far no pictures have gotten out. Good Luck
Reply:hi,

I need a topic for writing a research methods paper, got topics?

What is a good topic? I am a soc major. I am interested in health care, women and children, domestic abuse, and anything that effects/affects the african american population especially in reference to women.

I need a topic for writing a research methods paper, got topics?
What is interesting about the areas of interest you mentioned is that many of them (e.g. domestic abuse, health care for kids) can be difficult to research because of gaps in basic data and facts. One option that relates to research methods would be to identify and discuss how to apply rigorous thought and research to areas where the fundamental data has ambiguity or gaps. What are advantages or disadvantages of surveys? Advantages and disadvantages of in-depth case studies, etc.

The topic might give you some valuable perspective for potential careers. It also would be a potentially interesting lens to use since you could review research that is best practice for different methods on topics that interest you.
Reply:One of my undergraduate majors was sociology. I love the subject. Have you thought about doing some type of prison research? That is big in sociology. You could always work health care into the research, trends on abuse, recidivism, etc. Or, you might want to think about politics in general--using this very election to focus on these issues.

Reply:Controversial topics are always the best. You can usually find a ton of stuff for research, and it gives you the opportunity to view topics that truly have an impact in our society. Here are a few:

Abortion

Our presence in Iraq

Immigration

Drugs -- should they be legalized?

Smoking
Reply:what are commercial effects on people and society. I wrote a 100 page paper about that. It was great!
Reply:something I haven't seen for awhile... Is what are Native Americans doing now. How was it back before civilization began? What was it like to live in this custom. How did the government really boot them out of socitity (spelling). How they took advantage of our ignorance. How they gave us dieases to kill us and how few of are left and trying to fight to get our rights back as human beings. How come the African American's have more rights then we do? Because we lived here first and got pushed out of our country.

Think about it!!!!!!!!!
