You could research what are the most common type of marketing strategies and techniques used by female business owners in that region, especially in high poverty areas.
There has been a great international movement to help women in impoverished areas to develop viable businesses to support their families. This is helping to, in the long term, provide education for the children in those regions...a grassroots movement to enhance societies and economies.
I don't have a specific resource, as this is more from word of mouth and looking into the inner-workings of some newer companies that are selling imported products in the USA.
