Research Topics?

I know this is a pretty typical question on here, but I have a research paper that I am working on for my college English course all semester long. We have to find a research topic and I've tried to come up with one that I would find interesting and that isnt the typical paper but I've been coming up short on ideas and the internet is getting me no where. I really dont want to work on diseases and I already considered doing Lucid Dreaming as a topic but found that my library doesnt have the resources for that topic so I would love to have any suggestions over a possible research topic....thanks!!!!

Well, last year, I wrote on the impact that the internet has had on the degradation of language. Chatspeak, whatever you want to call it, is being seen more and more in the real world, including homework assignments. I interviewed several teachers, and they are getting pretty frustrated by it.

Reply:pop culture is always an interesting subject. You can do anything from fashion to music, just depends what you teacher wants. I did a paper on pop cultures effect on kids and their spending habits that went over pretty well.
Reply:Do something on euthanasia (assisted suicide). You can start it with the actual definition from the dictionary, throw in something about Jack Kevorkian and something about movies or real life situations. Ever seen Million Dollar Baby with Clint Eastwood? What was that ladies name in Florida last year, she been in a hospital bed for 15 years and her husband wanted to end it, but her parents and most of the nation objected to it. Even the President got involved. You could say your viewpoint, use the bible if you're into it, and ask family how they feel on the subject. I'm sure no one else will write a paper on this subject. If you do it correctly it could be great.
