In need of a research topic for math?

I have to write an extensive research paper for English relating to my major, mathematics. I'm having difficulty selecting a particular topic to focus my research on since most areas of mathematics are so broad.





If you could, please give me some suggestions/ideas on selecting a topic. Your help is highly appreciated.

It's one field in Mathematics that has application in areas ranging from economics to evolutionary biology. You may not actually need to elaborate what actually is game theory, but you can write the application.





You can also write about the contributions of John Forbes Nash to Game Theory.

Reply:You might think of examining the relationship of gasoline prices and their octane levels. Try to determine the difference in Miles Per Dollar (MP$) of higher to lower octane ratings.





I often wonder if I get more miles per gallon by using the more expensive gasoline, but wonder if it's offset by it's higher price. Do I really save by buying better grades of gas, or is it more cost effective to use the cheaper grades?
