Does anyone know worthwhile topics to research on in the fields of either physics or environmental science?

project shld be suitable for a 14 year old, so not too high level.

How about the effect of the wild fires in California on the air quality or the environment?

Or the importance of coral reefs?
Reply:A Project I personally would like to see from a 14 year old is on global warming. He/she could research temperature, precipitation, and other data in their local geographic location and do some simple statistical tests (i'm talking mean, median, mode easy) to detect changes in say the last 25 years, in various weather markers. It would be interesting to me to see for myself what kind of changes in my own environment are occuring (or are not occuring if you are raising he/she as a Limbaugh conservative). Could also look up some of the actual chemistry involved in CO2 degradation of Ozone which is believed to be the origin of the global temp increase that may or may not be occuring, and also research some of the global effects of temperature change that are occuring already (they are apparently fairly well documented, maybe). These are just ideas, you could probably brainstorm and let the information take you wherever you want to go. Good luck, I hope this puts you on the right track to some cool stuff.
